Strangely enough, sometimes I think some people are afraid to have fun. Afraid that others will look down their noses at them if they’re not being perfectly serious all the time. Afraid to let loose in certain settings, like work, lest others consider them unprofessional. Afraid that people will think that they’re immature.
Well, if having fun makes one lesser, unprofessional, or immature, then count me in! Because I am clearly all of those.
It’s not to say that I don’t know how to behave appropriately for certain settings, because I do, but really, we just don’t need to be so serious all the time. Life is too short to not make the best of it in all situations.
Consider your job. I’d venture a guess that most people work because they need to, not because they have a deep love for their job. For those who do love their jobs, more power to them. But whether you love your job or just tolerate it, we spend most of our waking hours there, so why not make it fun?
Don’t let life pass you by without enjoying it! Tell a joke, have a good laugh, and make whatever environment you are in a better one. Trust me, enjoyment and fun are contagious and eventually others will want to join in.
So don’t be afraid to be viewed as immature. To hell with the haters. Far better than being considered uptight if you ask me. Let go and enjoy every aspect of your life!
